Greening the environment

While enjoying green spaces, we can experience an eco-lifestyle and contribute to environmental improvement.
As a result of global warming caused by the release of greenhouse gases such as CO2, we are increasingly experiencing abnormally hot weather each year.
A measure for coping with this problem that is expected to grow in popularity is "rooftop greening". A green canopy has the effect of preventing concrete areas from heating up, and CO2 is decreased. Moreover, benefits to the temperature adjustment of the building itself mean that this strategy also contributes to energy saving.
Meisei's plastics development technology was employed in the creation of "Plafount" (http://www.plafount.com) by Marutaka Co., Ltd, a company that promotes rooftop greening.

Main features of Plafount
Reduces the burden on buildings by using light plastic and ultra-light soil.
When creating a garden on top of a building, care is required that the weight is appropriate for the building, that there is thorough drainage, that the soil will not run off and so on.
Plafount succeeds in being very lightweight, using a plastic planter in which plants are stabilized with ultra-light soil and a root coiling anchor. The load on the building is drastically reduced. Furthermore, there is a mechanism for directly discharging water into the drain from a hose inside the planter, achieving total drainage.
With this ultra-light soil containing the optimal features for plant growth, you can plant as you wish without being concerned about weight.

Total drainage has been realized without requiring special construction work.
Rooftop greening methods in the past required construction work to create a waterproof and rooting prevention layer on the building. However, with Plafount, the container with the potting soil is detached from the surface in contact with the ground, and there is a connection from the planter to the water discharge tank. Since you can discharge water into a given place, such as a drain, there is no need for special drainage work. The planter is a self-standing type, and light, so you can freely change the layout.
